Hey all!
On my last Vlog I discussed a few goodies that came out a while ago. I've been super busy, hence I was late on my review, but no worries. =) Like I mentioned, I am going to do a pretty thorough review on the Gel Blush that I'm *loving.* I'll basically be mentioning other wonderful uses it has aside from blush, how well it works, appearance it gives, etc.
First off, it's a very bright color! Very pretty, yet also scary looking in the pot. My first impression was: "Woah! I can't wear that out." Though that's not true at all. In fact, it's a very sheer shade that goes on as light as a pale pink, to a bright pinkish-red, while still looking good. It blends very well into the skin, and I like how it works with both liquid and ry foundations.
I really like the ease of application when it comes to any gel blush! This one in particular has a wonderful consistency. To the touch it's very smooth, almost creamy, yet still maintaining a light texture. It's not airy like the Dream Mousse, but it's still just as light. To apply, my favorite brush to use is MAC's 187 or 188. It depends on whether I'm using it as a base for another blush, or as a blush alone. If I'm using it as a base to another blush, I like the 188 because it's smaller, I pick up less product at a time, and I can concentrate it on a particular area where I want the blush to look brightest. With the 187, I can cover more area and it looks lovely on it's own (personally prefer it that way).
In addition, this gel blush maintains most of its moisture throughout wear, which is why it works great as a lip balm/stain as well. It feels as creamy as a chapstick would, yet there is that beautiful color accentuating the lips. It looks a lot like 'Tender Tryst' though not identical. 'Just a Pinch' is definitely brighter than the 'Tender Tryst' See Thru Lip Color, and I believe it's better because it doesn't dry out the lips. Definite plus! It's also buildable, so it can be a subtle rosy pink to a bright red like the pot. =) Looks fantastic when 'Flashmode' Lustreglass is added on top.
A downside would be that it doesn't last as long as the See-thru Lip Colour. When I wore it, it stood strong up until I had lunch (5 hrs later), where it faded considerably but not completely.
I suppose it all comes down to whether you care about the formula of each product. I think the Gel Blush is a win-win choice because it works as a blush, doubles as a lip stain, and conditions the lips...
vs.
The lip colour does last for a long time, but they don't come with a lot of product for their price, and sadly they dry out the lips.
These are my quick thoughts. =) Goodnight everyone.
xoxo
